Physio-pathologies

Investigations on observed physiopathologies provide knowledge on how populations have faced and adapted to environmental factors and pathogens. Gene mutations are expected to drive translational research: from genetics into clinical research and medicinal chemistry advances for the treatment of human physiopathology. Understanding the biological complex systems, establishing artificial models to identify the sensitive points of a complex system and to predict the emergent properties give hope to find cures for diseases, tools for diagnostics and prognostics. Target validation and prioritization are the bottleneck of successful drug design and discoveries programs and should profit from a complex systems approach. The resulting milestones are highly dependent on a strong interdisciplinary approach, and should provide novel insights into physiology and pathology, new personnalized medicine.
